Do you offer a mobile mechanical service?
Yes — we also provide a mobile mechanical service at your home or work. We also have our own garage at 290A Ampthill Road, Bedford MK42 9QL if you'd rather drop the car off.
What does an MOT cost?
£54.85 for a Class 4 MOT test. If the vehicle is left with us and re-tested within 10 working days, the partial re-test is free. If it goes away for repair and comes back within those 10 working days, a partial re-test fee may apply — we will always tell you first.
Why might my service cost more than £99?
Our service prices are starting prices. An interim service starts at £99 and a full service at £169, but the final price depends on your engine and the parts it needs — a larger engine takes more oil, and some cars need a specific oil that on its own can cost over £100. We check what your car takes and confirm the price with you before we start any work. No surprises at handover.

Do you work on electric and hybrid cars?
Yes — we're qualified to work on electric vehicles and hybrids: servicing, repairs, diagnostics, brakes and tyres.
Where are you based? Can I drop the car in?
Yes — our garage is at 290A Ampthill Road, Bedford MK42 9QL. We also provide a mobile mechanical service across Bedford and the surrounding towns if that's easier. Most customers drop the car off and we call when it is ready.
Can I wait while you do the work?
We are set up as a working garage, not a showroom — there is no customer waiting area and no toilet facilities on site. Most customers drop the car off and we call or message when it is done. There is a Morrisons nearby if you need facilities while you wait in the area. If waiting is difficult, our mobile mechanical service may suit you better.
What areas do you cover?
Bedford, Kempston and the surrounding Bedfordshire towns — roughly 15 miles around Bedford. We don't cover Northamptonshire or London.
What does an air con re-gas cost?
From £59 on R134A gas, which covers most cars built before around 2017. Newer cars on R1234yf we price on quote.
What are your hours?
Mon–Fri 8am–6pm, Sat 8am–2pm, and Sunday by appointment. We are often open later in the evenings, so just ask and we will try to fit you in. Late and Sunday work is by phone appointment only — those slots depend on who is free that day, so they cannot be booked through the form or by email. Work outside our standard hours — any Sunday, Saturday after 2pm, or any weekday after 6pm — also carries an additional charge on top of the normal price. It depends on the job, and we confirm it with you before any work starts — never afterwards. The assistant takes messages any time, day or night.
